Damaged or missing items will incur the loss of the deposit, which will be used to replace the item.
Delivery/Collection
For Deliveries
- Delivery charges (if applicable) will be discussed at the time of ordering.
- Whenever possible, the cake will be set up in its final location for wedding cakes. If this is not possible, the cake will be left with a member of staff from the venue. Olive Tree Cakes cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake after delivery.
For Collections
- Olive Tree Cakes cannot take any responsibility for damage to cakes when collected and transported by customers.
- DO NOT place the cake on a seat (or a passenger’s knee) in the car, as this can damage the cake. The cake should be transported on a flat surface – either in the boot or the footwell of the car on a non-slip mat (if you do not have one, please ask). Extra care should be taken when driving as some elements may be delicate. Also, please be aware of the internal temperature of your car, particularly on hot days – use air conditioning if available and do not leave the cake in your car.
Storage
- All cakes should be stored on a flat surface at room temperature in the box provided. Do not refrigerate. They should be kept out of direct sunlight.
- Sponge cakes should be consumed within 48 hours of collection/delivery.
